CO-FOUNDER AND PRINCIPAL
Sean Kia is a Co-Founder and Principal overseeing the Acquisitions, Dispositions, and Portfolio Management of Tides Equities. Since founding the company in 2016, Mr. Kia has been integral in building a portfolio of over $6.6 Billion of real estate amounting to over 29,000 units across Arizona, Texas, California, and Nevada. Prior to his role as Co-Founder and Principal of Tides Equities, Mr. Kia worked for Benedict Canyon Equities (BCE), a National United States real estate investment company focusing on multifamily value add acquisitions in the United States. During his tenure at BCE, Mr. Kia was a lead underwriter for new acquisitions, and played a significant role in the portfolio management of BCE’s $2 billion portfolio. Prior to BCE, Mr. Kia contributed in managing a $4 Billion dollar portfolio for JRK Property Holdings, another National real estate investment company focusing on multifamily value add acquisitions in the United States. Mr. Kia holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business, with a concentration in Finance from Boston University School of Management.

RYAN ANDRADE

Ryan Andrade is a Co-Founder and Principal overseeing the Acquisitions, Dispositions, and Portfolio Management of Tides Equities. Mr. Andrade co-founded the company in 2016 and has been essential in building a portfolio of over 29,000 units across Arizona, Texas, California, and Nevada, totaling over $6.6 Billion of real estate owned. Prior to his role as Co-Founder and Principal of Tides Equities, Mr. Andrade held a position as an Acquisitions Manager at TruAmerica Multifamily, a premier owner and operator of multifamily real estate in the United States. During his tenure at TruAmerica, Mr. Andrade worked on the acquisition of over $2 billion of value-add multifamily assets. Prior to TruAmerica, Mr. Andrade financed over $5B in loan proceeds with Freddie Mac Multifamily, first in an underwriting capacity and later through loan originations. Further relevant past positions include roles with Deloitte & Touche LLP, and Sotheby’s International Realty. Mr. Andrade graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business-Economics and concentrations in Accounting and Entrepreneurship.

BRIEN KELLEY
MANAGING DIRECTOR AND GENERAL COUNSEL
Brien Kelley is Managing Director and General Counsel responsible for all legal matters at Tides Equities. Prior to joining the company, Mr. Kelley was a partner in the Real Estate Department at Sklar Kirsh LLP, one of the premier boutique law firms in Los Angeles, California. Mr. Kelley’s association with Tides began back in 2016 when he assisted the company with its first multifamily project acquisition. Since that time, Mr., Kelley has been Tides’ primary legal counsel and played an integral role in helping the company build a portfolio of over 29,000 units across Arizona, Texas, California, and Nevada, totaling over $6.6 Billion of real estate assets. Mr. Kelley has over twenty years of transactional real estate experience, during which time he has represented institutional and family office real estate investors, syndicators, developers, and operators in a broad range of real estate-related matters, including acquisitions, dispositions, financing, and joint ventures. Mr. Kelley holds a bachelor’s degree in History from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law.

NOAH NUDELL
MANAGING DIRECTOR, ASSET MANAGEMENT
Noah Nudell has established a strong foundation in the multifamily industry through his many years of experience, bringing with him, a wealth of knowledge with respect to asset management, property operations, business planning, due diligence, acquisitions, claim management, and investor relations. Prior to his role as the Managing Director of Asset Management at Tides Equities, Mr. Nudell worked at Gelt, Inc., a Los Angeles based investment firm specializing in value-add multifamily real estate investments across the Western United States. During his tenure with Gelt, Mr. Nudell played a leading role in the portfolio management of Gelt’s billion dollar portfolio, while also playing an integral role with respect to investor relations, construction management, due diligence, claim management, property acquisitions, and property dispositions. While Mr. Nudell was with the firm, he grew the department to a team of multiple asset managers and a construction manager, while establishing the foundations of the asset management department. Mr. Nudell graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of San Francisco’s Honor’s Business Cohort Program, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration.

RAHSAANA ALLEN
SVP, GENERAL COUNSEL
Rahsaana Allen is SVP, General Counsel of Tides Equities. She partners to lead and manage all legal aspects of the business. Rahsaana brings with her more than two decades of experience in real estate, corporate governance, asset management, business transactions and complex contract negotiations. Working with other C-suite executives and entrepreneurs, she has managed corporate legal matters across various stages of a company’s growth. At Tides Equities, Rahsaana brings her talent to bare to create sound, value-add solutions for the company, its investors and partners.
Prior to joining Tides Equities, Rahsaana held senior leadership roles at companies including ExchangeRight, Westfield, Hilton Hotels Corporation and Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP. At ExchangeRight, she led the legal department during a period of hyper growth where assets under management grew from $750 million to over $3 billion in less than three years. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice Administration from San Diego State University and a Juris Doctorate from the University of California at Los Angeles School of Law.

SUSAN SAELEE

Susan Saelee brings a wealth of knowledge and real estate experience ranging from due diligence coordination, transaction management, loan and draw processing, business operations and administration, and asset management. Prior to her role as the Senior Director of Transactions and Operations, Ms. Saelee worked for TruAmerica Multifamily, a real estate investment and management firm that specializes in value-add and manages over $9.5 billion in assets. Ms. Saelee began her tenure at TruAmerica as the Transactions and Compliance Coordinator before leaving the firm as the Operations Manager. While at TruAmerica, Ms. Saelee implemented and streamlined processes for the growing company while assisting in closing over $1.3 billion in Acquisitions, representing 8,788 units acquired and closed over $205 million in Dispositions, representing over 1,743 units sold. Ms. Saelee received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the University of California, Los Angeles and is an active member of the UCLA Real Estate Alumni Group.

KRISTI HALL
DIRECTOR, ASSET MANAGEMENT
Kristi Hall is a Real Estate executive with over 22 years of experience in Multifamily with emphasis on maximizing rents and portfolio value. She has a wide range of knowledge consisting of transaction management, due diligence, new construction, business operations, property management, repositioning, and financial draw processes. Prior to her role at Tides Equities, Ms. Hall worked for FPI, a privately owned, exclusive third-party, multifamily management company where she began her tenure as a Portfolio Manager and was quickly promoted to Executive Portfolio Manager due to her performance in challenging markets. While at FPI, Ms. Hall managed, repositioned, value added and closed a multitude of properties valued over $600 million within Southern California. Prior to FPI, Ms. Hall held a regional position with Fairfield Residential where she was the driving force behind the management of a portfolio of 10+ assets ranging from Class A & B properties. Ms. Hall held an active position on the governmental affairs board with AAGIE, and has received industry recognition due to her overwhelming performance onsite and in portfolio management. Ms. Hall studied business management and holds a certificate in correctional science.

ELLIOT ASKARI
DIRECTOR, PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT

Elliot Askari is Director of Portfolio Management at Tides Equities. In his prior role, he worked as Director of Acquisitions and Asset Management at Standard Management Company, a Los Angeles based investment firm specializing in value-add multifamily real estate investments across the western United States. Mr. Askari was integral in growing the real estate portfolio to over $1 Billion in the multifamily and commercial sector to 3,200 units and over 600,000 square feet respectively across California, Nevada, Denver, and Oklahoma. Mr. Askari was the lead underwriter at Standard Management and played a critical role in managing the portfolio and repositioning assets. His wealth of experience encompasses acquisitions, due diligence, asset management, investor relations, and dispositions. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in Mechanical Engineering. He is also a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) and holds a California Real Estate Broker license.

MEHRZAD EMANUEL

Mehrzad Emanuel is an experienced operating executive who has built and sold businesses as well as analyzed, acquired and successfully integrated multiple acquisitions. Mr. Emanuel founded CEI, a leading environmental services company, later sold to Baker (then a Code Hennessy & Simmons Capital portfolio company) and helped navigate its acquisition in 2005 by a consortium of Lightyear Capital, Caisse de Depot et Placement du Quebec (CDPQ) and Goldman Sachs Mezzanine Partners. Acquired by global private equity firm Permira ($30+ billion AUM) in 2011 and known as BakerCorp. Mr. Emanuel serves as Operating Partner of Star Mountain Capital, focused on the U.S. lower middle-market by investing debt and equity directly into established operating companies & also as an advisor for TYLT Venture, an early-stage venture capital firm, and has served on the executive advisory committee of Ener-Core Inc., a manufacturer of innovative systems for producing continuous energy from emission exhaust of industrial processes. Mr. Emanuel has a BS in Chemical Engineering from Penn State University & an MBA from Pepperdine University.
